This is the week when you can finally join a completely free 5-week-long online course on how to use Web 2.0 tools in English teaching. You will learn how to create blogs, wikis, how to use twitter and Skype in teaching, how to put interactive exercises and questionnaires online and much more.
You will not only learn about new technologies but also meet enthusiastic teachers of English from all over the world, start intercultural projects and more.

One more round of the Electronic Village Online 2012 sessions has been announced. Brand new ones and some of the traditional ones that have been around for some years, like the Becoming a Webhead, Drama Workshop and Mentoring. Every year Confluence from Scotland runs successful training courses for teachers of English from all over the EU. These courses take place in Edinburgh, Scotland in July & October and last for one week. All participants can apply for full funding under the EU Grundtvig/Comenius programme. It is a wonderful opportunity for teachers from all over Europe to come together.

rádi bychom vás upozornili na nadcházející kurzy Školy rétoriky, tentokráte pro děti. Jde o sebezkušenostní kurzy, ve kterých se děti lépe naučí mluvenému projevu, naučí se respektovat sebe sama i druhé a skrze pohyb i slovo se naučí osobitě se vyjádřit a pracovat s trémou.

Kurzy jsou rozděleny podle věku dětí. Pro mladší kategorii je určen kurz: K rétorice přes řecké báje a pověsti pro děti 9 - 11 let, který začíná 5.10. 2011 ve 14.30 hod. a pro starší kategorii je v nabídce kurz: Pohybem k rétorice pro děti 12 – 14 let, který začíná 5.10. 2011 od 16.10 hod.

Vážený pane profesore, paní profesorko,

ve dnech 20. až 29. září navštíví naší republiku již poněkolikáté zástupci kanadských středních škol z provincie Nova Scotia a letos navíc i zástupkyně novozélandské střední školy Long Bay College, Auckland. Cílem jejich návštěvy je seznámit naše studenty s možnostmi studia na zahraničních středních školách, případně o možnostech studentských výměnných programů.

Od 1. září 2011 mohou střední školy zapisovat své žáky do každoroční soutěže mladých překladatelů *Juvenes Translatores*, kterou pořádá EU. Zápis je možný na stránkách http://ec.europa.eu/translatores do 20. října, přičemž internetové přihlášky jsou k dispozici ve všech úředních
jazycích EU. Letošní, již pátý ročník soutěže, se bude konat 24. listopadu ve stejnou hodinu ve všech vybraných školách. Mohou se jí zúčastnit studenti narození v roce 1994 z více než 750 škol.
